The GoPoint Mobility Hub is a multi-modal transportation hotspot concept. Developed by Team Red, an international group of innovative transportation and mobility experts, GoPoint provides an answer to connecting bike sharing, car sharing, and city bus systems in one self-contained package. A touch screen kiosk and internet hotspot help travelers choose the best option to reach their destination.
Whereas curb alterations are costly, and may become obsolete with shifting commuter trends, the GoPoint comes with an assembly and disassembly plan. It can be quickly installed and later moved to any location. The hub’s steel floor bridges from the sidewalk to a small concrete island in a way that is both safe from traffic and unobtrusive to water drainage.
I could imagine this fitting into many situations – decentralized suburban neighborhoods, packed sporting events, or high-demand rural locations such as Portland’s Sauvie Island.
