Before joining Fat Pencil in 2023, Kalin served as a program manager, designer, and creative officer working on public involvement and communications projects for public agencies throughout the northwest. Kalin specialized in developing presentations, infographics, and interactive tools to help make abstract projects and concepts accessible to impacted stakeholders. A native Portlander, Kalin received a B.A. in Politics from Whitman College in 2004. When he isn't spending time with his family, he is usually reading mystery novels, working on puzzles, or planning long hikes in the Cascades.
