Congratulations to our client Chris Carlson on winning two state awards from the Minnesota chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects [Honor Award, Communication: Mind Land: A Short Field Guide; Merit Award, Analysis and Planning: Peter Mitchell Landscape Framework Plan]. Both projects provide progressive reclamation practices and a long-term (60 year) strategy for reclaiming a 12-mile mine landscape after taconite has been extracted. We worked with Chris over the course of a couple years to develop presentations, reports, the Field Guide and the final manual for the Framework Plan. A segment of the Plan will be implemented within the next few years. It was a pleasure to work with Chris and her team on such a meaningful effort.
