This series of slides explains the cause of sleep apnea by layering annotations above a stock medical illustration. In many cases, surgery is to remove tonsils and adenoids can relieve or eliminate sleep apnea. An LMA mask (pictured in animation below) is used to keep the airway open during surgery.
