Yaquina Bay Bridge

The painting contractor had proposed setting up tarps and protecting two bays at once, so that blasting & painting work could occur in one bay while setup/breakdown of scaffolding was happening in the other. However the bridge owner rejected this plan citing concerns about lateral loads in high wind situations. This last-minute change to a one-bay work plan was a primary driver of schedule delays.
